Since launching Motif earlier this year, the response from the design community has been incredible. More importantly, your feedback has been invaluable. Every conversation, every feature request, and every suggestion has helped shape what Motif is becoming—and today marks an important milestone in that journey.

We're excited to announce our June feature release, built directly from your feedback.

What's New This Month

Linked File Streaming

One of the most common requests we heard was "Can Motif handle linked Revit files?" The answer is now a resounding yes. Linked Revit files now stream seamlessly to Motif, giving you access to your entire project. No more worrying about missing context or incomplete models—everything stays connected and consistent between Revit and Motif.

Colors and Transparency

"Why don't my materials look right in Motif?" We heard you. Revit and Rhino materials now stream to Motif with their original colors and transparency intact. Your material palettes, your transparency settings, your design intent—it all comes through as you intended. Because design is visual, and every detail matters.

Measurement and Sizing Tools

From day one, architects have asked for measurement capabilities. Motif boards are true model-size, unlike other infinite canvas applications. Our new measurement tools let you measure elements instantly, while our sketch object sizing tools give you complete control over dimensions and proportions. Unlike traditional whiteboard tools, Motif bridges the gap between conceptual sketching and precise technical work.

External Organization Invites

"Can we invite our consultants who use different email domains?" Yes, you can. We've expanded organization invites to work across any email domain, making it seamless to bring external partners—engineers, consultants, clients—directly into your Motif workspace. Because great design is always a team effort.

Why These Features Matter

Each of these updates addresses real workflow pain points we've observed in the field, as teams increasingly lean on Motif to iterate on designs and present their work to clients.

They're not arbitrary feature additions—they're direct responses to the challenges you face every day. When your models stay consistent across platforms, when your collaborators can join regardless of their email provider, when you can measure and sketch with precision, the friction in your design process starts to disappear.

This is exactly the kind of responsiveness we talked about in our vision for Motif. We believe that slope—how quickly we respond to your needs—matters more than where we start.

A New Rhythm: Monthly Feature Drops

Today's release establishes something important: a consistent drumbeat of improvement. Moving forward, you can expect new features and capabilities from Motif every month.

Our roadmap is already packed with features you've requested: advanced visibility controls, enhanced markup tools, expanded 3D support beyond Revit and Rhino, and more. But we won't stop there. As you continue using Motif and sharing feedback, that roadmap will continue evolving.

This Is Just the Beginning

At Motif, we're building the shared workspace for the worlds most impactful structures. And this isn't built overnight but rather thoughtfully, step by step, with your input guiding every decision.

These monthly releases are how we'll get there together—each one making Motif more powerful, more intuitive, and more essential to your design process.
