We're excited to share that Neha Batra has joined Motif as our Vice President of Engineering. Neha comes to us from GitHub, where she served as VP of Engineering leading Product Engineering across web, desktop, mobile, and CLI. While there, she played a key role in AI initiatives including Copilot Code Review.
At Motif, Neha will oversee our entire engineering organization—setting technical strategy, building the infrastructure and teams needed to scale our platform, and working closely with product and design to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
What drives Neha is making technology more accessible and solving real human problems. She has deep roots in the physical world—growing up competing in robotics and earning her degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. That combination of software expertise and mechanical engineering background makes her a natural fit for leading engineering at a company building tools for architects.
Earlier in her career, Neha wore multiple hats as both engineer and product manager at Floored—a 3D modeling platform for real estate later acquired by CBRE. Before GitHub, she was a senior engineer at Pivotal Labs, working hands-on with clients to build production systems. And she started her career at Rent the Runway, where she built everything from customer-facing features to warehouse systems enabling one-day garment turnaround.
”I've always gravitated toward products where software meets the physical world—that's what drew me to mechanical engineering, to Floored, and now to Motif,” Neha said. “I'm thrilled to manage the dream Engineering team that is building something architects have needed for years! I'm excited to lead the team and bring stability while delivering and scaling our product to more people.”
Beyond her day job, Neha is passionate about helping engineers grow into leaders. Through her podcast Minimal Viable Management, along with guides and articles, she shares practical insights on everything from decision-making and mentorship to navigating conflict and rebuilding trust.
